Cricklade Bloomers are an entirely volunteer run and funded organisation, so we have to raise funds to maintain existing projects and do any new work by holding fund raising events and through donations.
Cricklade has had great success in the regional and national ‘In Bloom’ campaigns. However, whilst the extra publicity is welcome and good for the town, competitions and awards are not the real motivation for the team, who turn out throughout the year and in all weathers.
So, whether in or out of competition, we will continue to maintain our high standards and keep the town looking good, as Cricklade folk and visitors have come to expect.
Why do we do this? Cricklade is OUR town and we want to take care of it, after all, it’s where we live. We are proud of our town and the people that have been so supportive of our efforts to make Cricklade a better place.
We work all year maintaining and replenishing the flower beds, baskets, troughs, and planters, along with a program of planting trees and bulbs, always selecting varieties that attract pollinators.
We really do appreciate the wonderful support we get from the community. Without the support of Cricklade businesses, organisations, and individuals, combined with our own fund-raising initiatives, we would not be able to continue our work to the high standard we have all become accustomed to.
We are always incredibly pleased to receive your support, whether in kind, as a donation, helping as a volunteer or supporting any of our fundraising events. Every penny we raise is used to make Cricklade look one of the most attractive small towns in Wiltshire.
